The Blue School Project (BS) in Oddar Meanchey

RCEDO has received funding supported from Czech Republic Embassy to implement the Blue School project for improving WASH in school of 3 target primary schools in Saangkat Samraong and Konkriel of Oddar Meanchey province. The project implemented period was 01 March-October 2022.

RCEDO partnered with the Provincial Department of Education Youth/Sport (PDoEYS) to successfully implement Blue schools (BS) project in Sangkat Samroang and Koun kriel at Krong Samraong of Oddar Meanchey province. Through the implementation of the Blue School, there are 1155 (female 478) both teachers and students benefit from improved health and water sanitation infrastructure, and they become aware of the relationship between safe water, waste, food and the environment in a disaster-prone environment.

As result of three target primary schools implemented thoroughly and constantly improved. The concept proved to be a very promising approach not only to improve health & WASH in schools but also to raise awareness among children about the entire water cycle and the importance of water resources protection. They experience in sustainable land and water management practices through the school garden and the other environmentally-friendly technologies in the schoolyard and nutrition intake and sharing the best model of school garden with SMART bio intensive cultivation practices (please details with report attached).
