Who We Are?

RCEDO is an independent Cambodian Non Government Organisation which works to improve the lives of rural communities in northwestern Cambodia.  We are motivated by a belief that all individuals are entitled to basic human rights and that, by working hand in hand with rural communities, we can empower people to bring about positive change in their own lives.  Since 1998 up to present, we have supported rural people in more than 99 villages and 13 communes, 10 districts across Cambodia’s northwest.  In the past 20 years- we have successfully implemented livelihood improvement projects, water/sanitation, Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction, decentralization and local good governance projects and have pioneered social accountability approaches in Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, Battambong and Oddar Meanchey province.

Our team works closely with the poorest and most vulnerable members of rural communities, line government departments and development partners to increase their incomes and participation in local decision making through empowering them to achieve peace and democracy. We believe that all individuals are entitled to basic human rights and that by working hand in hand with rural communities and the government agencies, we can empower people to bring about positive change in their own lives.
